Tuesday, December 02, 2014: History repeats again. Xiaomi has made a record one more time with their brand new device on Flipkart, Redmi Note, which has been sold completely in just 6 seconds, on the first day of its flash sale via the leading e-commerce site.The Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced that 50,000 units of Xiaomi Redmi Note would go on sale on Flipkart on 2 December and registrations began last monday, 24 November, when it was launched in India. Now the company has announced that all the units have gone off the shelves in just 6 seconds via Flipkart, which is the exclusive retail partner of the company. Hugo Barra, Xiaomi VP, made the announcement via his Twitter handle and also the official Twitter handle of the company in India. Barra's tweet says, “Mi India: Redmi Note out of stock in 6 secs today! @Flipkart @MiIndiaOfficial”.
The 3G dual-SIM variant of the Redmi Note is available for Rs 8,999 while the 4G variant will enter the market by mid-December. Redmi Note has a 13.97-cm (5.5-inch) 720p IPS display, 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, as in HTC Desire 616 and Micromax Canvas Knight, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 8GB built-in storage too, which can be expanded via microSD card, up to 32GB.
Redmi Note 4G has almost similar specifications except a different processor, SIM card support facility and also its Android version. Xiaomi has also indicated that Android 5.0 Lollipop will also be rolled out in future, though no particular time frame has been announced for the same. |  |
